The Las Rosas Group began in 2010 with a membership of around 50 women, with a goal to face systemic, gendered inequality within their communities and industry, and work towards gaining independent, equal footing as coffee farmers. Today the organization is 350 members strong, and has implemented a number of programs and efforts to rectify these inequalities. Its primary focus is the improvement of coffee production methods. This means the support and funding of sustainable modern coffee processing equipment, like the installation of parobolic drying beds, all of which improve farm viability. Within families and communities, they work towards inclusive decision making and ownership for women.
