Gititu means, itself, ‘big forest’ in Kikuyu, one of the native languages of the region

Gititu Farmers Cooperative Society is composed of nearly 5,200 members from numerous factories across the region. Cherries are picked and brought to the wet mill the same day where they go through meticulous sorting and then move on to be pulped. After being pulped the coffee is fermented for about 48 hours depending on ambient temperature. The coffee is then washed again and dried on raised drying beds for about 7 days.
